Umbrella Printing Techniques
We use a variety of printing techniques for customizing umbrellas.
The most commonly used method is screen printing. With this technique, the design is printed directly onto the surface of the umbrella fabric, most often on the canopy panels. Screen printing is ideal for logos or designs consisting of lines and solid areas, especially when they include no more than four different colors. The result is highly durable and long-lasting, with very vivid colors and precise color matching. However, this technique reaches its limits with very detailed motifs and becomes relatively expensive for multi-color designs and small production runs. For designs with few colors and larger quantities, screen printing is a very cost-efficient solution.
We also offer various forms of digital printing. With digital transfer printing, a design can be applied to umbrella fabric of any color. With dye-sublimation printing, the design is transferred onto white fabric. These digital printing methods allow for full-color designs with gradients, such as photographs or multi-colored logos. Especially for larger production runs, digital printing can be somewhat more complex and expensive than screen printing.
Another digital option is the doming sticker. Here, a printed badge is finished with a protective resin layer and then applied to the umbrella handle.
In addition, there are further finishing techniques used occasionally for umbrellas, such as laser engraving.
